Robert "Buck" Harris

Mr. Robert Harris affectionately known as Buck 76, of Mooresville, NC gained his eternal wings on Friday October 17, 2025. He was born January 31, 1949, to the late Paul Sloan and Elizabeth Harris of Iredell County, North Carolina

Buck was educated in the Iredell County School System and attended Unity High School in Statesville, North Carolina. Throughout his life, he worked for several companies including Burlington Mills, Suburbia Print, and most recently McDonald’s, where he served faithfully as a service person.

Buck had a deep love for his family, always showing his devotion through his protection and care. He made sure that no harm would ever come to those he loved. Though he was not a man of many words, he was a true jokester, bringing laughter to all who knew him with his quick wit and humor.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion was his collection of guns. Later in life, Buck answered his spiritual calling and dedicated himself to the ministry, changing his life and walking in his faith.

He was preceded in death by his paternal sibling: Harry Winford, Sheila Sloan, Sharon Harris, Shannon Sloan, Sherry Stewart and a sister-in-law Bonita Wilson.

Buck leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife Brenda Harris; 4 sons: Robert (Kenya) Harris, Chuckie Harris, Chauncey Harris, Roger (Saresa Leazer)Torrence, Daughter: Lafreda Pinkston: 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: maternal sibling: Sisters: Sharon (Robin) Stewart of Troutman, NC, Sherri Robinson of Kannapolis, NC, Brothers: Sherman (Janet) Harris of Troutman NC, Darrell (Sonya) Harris of Salisbury, NC, Steve (Sonya) Harris of Concord, NC, Barry Harris of Jacksonville, NC; paternal sibling: Brothers - Dwight Sloan of Mooresville, Steven (Penny) Sloan of Greensboro: sisters: Elaine (Sam) Sojourner of Spartanburg, SC, Shirlyn Heilig of Salisbury, Shelby Sloan of Oakland, CA, aunt Mabel Harris; brother in law: Otis (Iris) Westmoreland;  two sister in laws: Glenora Pinkston and Patrricia Westmoreland; Two very special nieces whom he helped raise Chanika Graham and Tabreka Cowan; two special cousins: Gerl Cowan and Tina Cowan; a special friend Angela (Bonnie) Berryman and a bonus granddaughter Takalyn Stevenson and a host of nieces, nephew, cousin and friends.
