Roland Bernard Sinclair was born February 11, 1939, to the late Margaret Ellen Horne and Reece Blair Sinclair, in Wadesboro, North Carolina.
“Sinclair” was a 1956 graduate of Polkton High School. In 1960 he graduated from North Carolina College at Durham (now NC Central) with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and in 1968 from The Illinois Institute of Technology with a Master’s Degree in Photography. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alph Fraternity.
From 1969-2002 Sinclair and family lived in Pasco, Washington, where he worked as a Photographic Specialist for Battelle NW at the Handford Nuclear Reservation. After retiring, he and Cozette moved to Hickory to be closer to family.
Sinclair was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 62 years, Cozette Patterson Sinclair; one son, Quentin Bernard Sinclair of Hickory, NC, two daughters, Jennifer Anne (Nathaniel “Jake”) Drisker of Charlotte, NC, and Gabrielle Marie Sinclair (Douglas “Eddie” Peterson) of Hickory, NC and one grandson, Gabriel Reece Peterson of Hickory, NC, one special cousin, Karen Madison, New York, New York.
Being an only child, Sinclair loved and cherished his many in-laws. Beginning with a baby sister/ like first child, Charlette Gore, and sisters Mildred Ware, DeLynn Clemons, aunts and uncles, Zakyus Carson, Stephanie Young and other nephews, nieces, and cousins. He also felt blessed to have wonderful neighbors and friends.
