Ronald Carver Donaldson, age 85, of Cornelius, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on February 11, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1940, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to the late James and Eugenia A. Donaldson.
Ronald was a devoted man of faith whose life was marked by service, dedication, and love for family and community. A proud graduate of Torrence Lytle High School, he completed his studies with honors and carried that same determination throughout his life. Ronald went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army before beginning a long and fulfilling career with Draymore Manufacturing Company, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Following retirement, Ronald continued his lifelong commitment to helping others by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, faithfully giving of his time and energy until his health declined. His compassion and generosity were evident in all that he did.
A lifelong and faithful member of Reeves Temple AME Zion Church, Ronald served humbly and diligently in numerous leadership roles, including Preacher Steward, Trustee Chairman, Lay Council President (whose colors he proudly wore — gold and black), and President of the Men of Zion (formerly known as the Men’s Boosters). He was also a Missionary Honorary Life Member (red stole), later he upgraded to a Patron (purple stole), and then he upgraded again to a Hearth for Overseas Mission. Through his leadership and faithfulness, he encouraged others to serve with purpose and devotion.
Ronald was preceded in death by his loving parents and siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Davis, and her husband Derek; his beloved grandchildren, Jamario and Darius (wife Victoria); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Hezekiah. He also leaves behind his sister Henrietta D. Howey of Charlotte, NC, and his brother Dr. Clinton L. Donaldson of Bloomfield, MI, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Ronald will be remembered for his faith, humility, and gentle strength. His sincere love for God, his family, and his community touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of service and grace that will continue for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Reeves Temple AME Zion Church or to Habitat for Humanity.
