Mrs. Rosie Lee Torrence was born January, 21st 1947 to the Late Theodore Johnson and Katie Rickett. On Saturday, October 23rd 2021 she was called home to everlasting peace.
Rosie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker. She opened her doors to anyone that was in need and she treated them just like family. She will be most remembered for her made-from scratch meals and nurturing presence. She was a true matriarch of the home. Her gentle approach to correction is what made so many trust and confide in her during rough times. She has also left a lasting impression with her church family where she served as the First Lady and Choir Director of the Ecclesiastes Gospel choir for many years. She truly loved God and was a powerful prayer warrior for her family and community. We are grateful to have shared even a short time with such a beautiful soul.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Johnson and Katie Rickett, and her brother Donald W. Rickett.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Reverend Freddie Lee Torrence of the home; nine children, Rhonda Rickett and Lisa Rickett of Cleveland, NC, Renee Wilson (Eric) of Mooresville, NC, Tony Rickett of Davidson, NC, Terri Mauney (James) of Statesville, NC, Dwayne Rickett of Mooresville, NC, Cheria Richardson (Dario) of Charlotte, NC, Shawn Torrence of Mooresville, NC, and Santerria Torrence of Kentucky. She also leaves twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; five siblings: James Rickett (Pat) of Nevada, Sandra Rickett of Charlotte, NC, Vanessa Johnson of Kannapolis, NC, and Faye Mills of Mooresville, NC. Also a host of nephews, nieces, god children, friends, other relatives and loved Ones.
