Sheryl Lynn Nelson

Sheryl L Nelson of Hempstead, NY was the youngest daughter of Adrain and Millie Nelson. She was born on February 1, 1973 in Queens, NY. She departed this life on January 30, 2020 in Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents David and Jessie Hayes, paternal, Arthur and Vera Nelson, and her parents Adrain and Millie Nelson.
Sheryl graduated from Hempstead High School and went on to study at Nassiva Community College in Long Island, NY. She gained certificates in the Healthcare field. NCICS- National Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist and OIP- Office Information Professional. She worked as a Billing Specialist at Memorial Herman Health Systems in Houston, TX and K & G Billing Solutions. She also worked as a Front Office Coordinator at Derosa Orthopedic Specialist under Dr. Patrick Derosa in Houston, TX. Sheryl was never married or had children but loved her nieces and nephews as her own.
Sheryl received Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist Church in Hempstead, NY where she served diligently on the Junior Usher Board. Her pastor was Rev. C.C. Boone.
Sheryl leaves behind a sister; Dawn Neal of Decatur, GA, three nieces; Lauren and Maya Cheatom of Douglasville, GA, and Barbara Cheatom of Decatur, GA, one nephew Jordan Cheatom of Decatur, GA, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved her dearly.
