Mrs. Thelma Barringer Green was the daughter of the late James Barringer and Sarah Brice Barringer. She was born January 22, 1933 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina where she attended the Smithville Center. She joined Torrence Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age where she also was on the stewardess board. Thelma retired from Reeves Brothers, formerly Foamex. She was a homemaker and worked for Mrs. Jane Avenger. She was proceeded in death by her sisters, Marcille Brown and Sarah Sellers; brothers Matthew Barringer, Jason Barringer, Thomas Barringer, James Polk, William Barringer, Robert Brown, Charles Brown, and Earnest Brown. Thelma leaves to cherish their memories; three children, Willie A. Barringer (Mary) of Charlotte, NC, Marilyn Green, and Walter Green of Davidson, NC; a brother, Sammy Barringer (Mildred); five grandchildren, Anitra Barringer, Twana Smith (Scott), Jessie Williamson Jr., Kimberly Barringer, and Kevin Williamson; five great grandchildren, Cameron Rivers,Kadajah Williamson, Jaya Williamson, Skyla Smith, and Brooklynn Williamson. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a special friend, Betty Davis.
