July 21, 2024 was just an ordinary day for some. But on that day the Lord whispered to his servant Thomas it’s time to come home. Thomas Allen Bryant entered into this world in Mecklenburg County on September 2,1961. He was the son of WH & Ella Bryant.
He received his early education in Mecklenburg County and graduated from Mooresville Senior High School Class of 1980. During and upon graduation he was employed by Burlington Mills for over 20 years. He then went to work for Kerns Studio for 6 years. His next place of employment was with Custom Products where he was an Assistant Supervisor for over 20 plus years as well. Thomas was considered a handy man being able to fix and do various jobs, so he decided his hand as a maintenance porter for GEM Management until his recent retirement. Let’s not talk about his lawncare capabilities. Which he was in business for himself for years. He would have all the neighbors jealous of your yard whenever they passed by.
Thomas attended and joined at an early age to Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a faithful member and at one time, President of the United Methodist Men, Finance Committee, Trustee Board, and Lay Servant. He could be seen cooking for their Annual Camp Meetings and mowing the lawn.
Thomas was a gentle and humble man with a bright smile and a hardy laugh. He was also an undercover comedian and would keep you rolling at any given moment with some of the things he’d say. He didn’t meet a stranger either. Once you said hey to him he would often reply “Hey Yasself”. Once the Carolina Panthers came on the scene he was a die hard fan; whether they were winning or losing. You could catch him wearing their gear, especially the hats which he was a collector of. He was a family man who adored spending time with his family immediate and extended.
Thomas was preceded in death by his first nurturing mother Eloise Redfearn, a sister Carol Fowler, a grandson Cornell Rashad Harris, Jr. (Buddy), and a goddaughter Danielle Graham.
He leaves treasured memories to his loving wife, Pamela T. Bryant; his children, LaSheria (Cornell) Harris, of Mooresville, NC, Thomas (Angela) Hart, of Statesville, NC, Mark (Octavia) Bishop, of High Point, NC, Tomera Bryant, of Troutman, NC, & Franklin L. Stewart, of Mooresville, NC; his parents Walter Harvey and Ella Bryant; grandchildren: Sania Harris, Tamia Hart, Kari Brantley, Paris McCoy, Ayanna Bishop, & Amias Bishop. He also leaves one brother San Diego Williams, of Durham, NC; three sisters, Angela (Michael) Neal, of Concord, NC, Renia (Kenneth) Bolden, of Mineral, VA, and Elizabeth Brown, of Richmond, VA; parents in law; Garland and Leona Turner; brothers in law, Garland E, Turner, Dexter Turner, Dwan Lytle, Sheldon Johnson; sisters in law, Trevis Turner and Carolyn Parker; two aunts, Ethel Reid and Liza Gibson; godchildren: Na’Tasha Stewart, Jacob Booker, Jasmyn Booker, Jayana Reid, & LaTrisha (Dante) Evans; and also special nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and the community as a whole.
