Thomas W. Johnson, son of the late Thomas H. and Eula M. Alexander Johnson, was born on December 13, 1934, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He has left his earthly self for his reward with our heavenly father on January 9, 2024.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Kay Frances Clark Johnson, his daughter Sherri D. Johnson, and his son Thomas W. Johnson, Jr. (Elizabeth)
He is survived by his brothers Gerald Johnson (Libby), Tollis Johnson (Brenda), and his sisters, Carletta Jenkins (Stanley), and Gloria Stroud (Keegan). Thomas was preceded in death by his sister Barbara M. Johnson Alexander.
Thomas was the beloved grandfather of Reginald Johnson, Shaniqua Heath, Tyler Johnson and Liana Johnson. He was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Kavasia Heath, Harleigh Richardson, Mason Johnson, Malia Johnson and Jasmine Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
He was also a Huntersville native, graduated from Torrence Lytle High School, before bravely and honorably serving in the United States Army. While serving in the Korean Conflict – high ranking officials noticed his commitment to keeping our country safe and because of this, he was given the honor or personally driving a “Four Star General.”
