Virginia Ruth Winford Blackwood was born February 18, 1952, to the late George Patterson and Willie Jean Winford. Bunt as she was known and called by her family and friends, earned her wings August 20, 2021, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Theodore and Olena Winford, brothers, Harry Winford and Charles Harris, sister, Frances Brown, two sons Fredrick and Vincent Brandon, and step-daughter, Parrish Floyd. Her loving husband James Allen “Ollie” Blackwood transitioned after her on August 30, 2021.
Virginia was an active member of Shinnville United Church of Church, Troutman, North Carolina, where she wore many hats - she was a Deaconess and President of the Voices of Victory singing group. “Bunt” loved her church and family, and was always ready to have a get together. She will be missed by all she knew and loved her, and the love she gave in return.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Dad, Herbert Harris, three sons, Larry Brandon of Jacksonville, FL, Cameron Winford (Jennifer) of Woodleaf, NC, and Corry L. Brandon of Mooresville, NC; three step-daughters, Tandra Blackwood of Mocksville, NC, Kimberly Blackwood and LaVern Blackwood of Mooresville, NC; two step-sons, James Carr (Marnita) and Jamie Fuller of Mooresville, NC, three sisters, Carolyn Parker (Bernard) of Mooresville, NC, Gloria Harris of Troutman, NC, and Linda Howell of Arcadia , Fla., and two brothers, Hurbert Harris (Carolyn) of Mooresville, NC, and Fredrick Harris (Catonya) of Arcadia, Fla., seven Grandchildren, and three Great Grandchildren; God-Children, Jamia Angle, Kyndal Torrene and Nikkie Rankin. Special friends, Margie, Billie,Lois, Willie Brandon, Ann and Laura Maye. A host of other relatives and friends survive.
